Community Technical and Adult Education Center is a public educational institution dedicated to providing educational opportunity for those who can profit from instruction. Admission is non-discriminatory and is open to anyone who is at least 16 years of age and is no longer enrolled in a k-12 institution. Because of certain licensing or other program requirements, some programs have other admission requirements. Inquiries regarding individual programs may be directed to the appropriate program coordinators or student services.

Registration
Step 1: Take the TABE unless exempt.
Step 2: Meet with Student Services or Program Staff as needed.
Step 3: Complete Orientation with Student Services or Program Staff.
Step 4: Register, Pay tuition and fees as required.
Step 5: Begin Classes.

Financial Aid
Federal Pell Grant Program
The Federal Pell Grant Program provides financial aid to qualified students. Eligibility is determined by a formula developed by the United States Department of Education. Students must be enrolled in a program of study with a minimum program length of 600 hours. In addition, the student must have a high school diploma, GED, or complete the third party testing requirements. Application forms may be completed with the Financial Aid Specialist in the main building. Students are encouraged to apply early.

There are a limited number of scholarships available in various program areas. Please see the financial aid officers for more information.

State Scholarships
Florida high school students may apply for the following scholarships during their last year of high school.

Florida Academic Scholar
Florida Merit Scholar
Florida Vocational Gold Seal

Students should visit their high school guidance department for more information or visit the Florida Department of Education's Bright Futures site on the web.

Career Counseling
Community Technical and Adult Education Center provides career counseling services for prospective and enrolled students in cooperation with the One Stop Workforce Connection. Students are assisted in exploring career options and making appropriate vocational training choices. Comprehensive assessments that identify aptitudes, interests, and work values such as Pesco and CHOICES are used.

Counseling
In order to provide students with educational, personal and vocational counseling and to identify and coordinate all available resources to empower students to reach full potential the services of a Guidance Counselor and Student Advisor are provided.
