TABE is designed to assess reading, mathematics, language, and spelling skills. All students must take the TABE before entering any Job Preparatory classes.

Veterinary Assisting

Love Animals? Want to be a part of the team that ensures their health and welfare? Students prepare for an exciting career in the veterinary field. Learn vocabulary, restraint techniques, surgery preparation and assisting, selected animal systems, animal behaviors, preventative medicine and disease control, parasitology, first aid for companion animals, and laboratory equipment and procedures. TABE testing required.

Orientation for the August 2006 class takes place at 6:00p on Thursday, May 25th at the Community Education Center, Portable 16. Come by for a short presentation and an opportunity to ask questions. Please pick up, fill out, and return an application form. Tuition is $1,170. There is an additional $125 first term fee that covers lab fee, book, scrubs and consumables.

Zoo Animal Program

Utilizing the Marion Nature Park's facilities and staff along with captive animal professionals and community support, students study areas such as public management, zoo animal medicine, exhibit design, zoo animal nutrition, zoological park/captive animal history/ethics, ornithological management, herpetological management, and mammalogical management. Classes begin in July and in January
