RADIOGRAPHY is a two-year, 40 hour a week,
job preparatory program in Radiologic Technology provided by
CT&AE. This FULL-TIME PROGRAM combines
an academic and a clinical practicum that leads to eligibility
to apply for national certification and entrance-level professional
skills in Radiologic Technology.
The program is "approved" for Veteran's Training,
WIA, Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program and Pell Grants.
The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee
on Education in Radiologic Technology.
The Program Goals

with a balance of instruction and radiologic
technology courses.

knowledge and skills to competently and safely
perform radiologic procedures.

problem-solving in the practice of radiography.

for students´ mastery of instructional activities.
- To provide clinical experiences that compliment
didactic instruction and develop clinical skills
required for professional practice.

professional growth.

of compassion, respect, understanding,
and dignity in providing care to patients
during diagnostic imaging procedures.
- To provide the health care community with graduate radiographers skilled in diagnostic imaging procedures.
Mission Statement
The Marion County School of Radiologic Technology is a two-year
certificate Radiography Program. The program is designed to provide
students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a
radiologic technologist. The program is dedicated to excellence
in education and training and to quality and safety of patient
care. The graduate of the program will be eligible for licensure
in the state of Florida as a Certified Radiologic Technologist
and to apply for admission to the certification examination administered
by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS must have a high school
diploma or equivalent. It is suggested that all candidates have
had advanced math and science courses, including Algebra, Geometry,
Physics or Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology as well as
excellent reading and language skills.
ENTRANCE TESTING , begins November 1, 2005
for the class that will begin in August 1, 2006. The T.A.B.E. examination
screens applicants in reading, math and language skills which
need to be at the college level. The two-year program begins
each August. If you are interested, your first step is to take the entrance examination. The testing hours are M-TH, 8:00am to 12:30pm and 4:30pm to 5:00pm.
FINANCIAL AID is available to those who qualify
through WIA, PELL Grants, and Florida Bright Futures Scholarship
Program. The program is "approved" for Veteran's Training.
Tuition and book fees amount to about $6,500 for the two year
program.
APPLICANTS SELECTED for this program are chosen
on an empirical basis derived from the ENTRANCE TESTING, ACADEMIC
TRANSCRIPTS, an INTERVIEW and CAREER ORIENTATION.
