Professional Welding

This course provides welding instruction to those seeking to enter the field of welding as well as those having welding experience, desiring to upgrade their welding skills, and learn new techniques. This course is highly recommended to those desiring to increase their welding knowledge and skills.



Ornamental Iron Work

Have fun fabricating creative welding art projects for your garden or the interior of your home. This class is about doing new, unexpected and stylish thing with welding. You do not have to be a professional welder to enroll in this class. In fact, you will learn to weld, working with a variety of metals and welding equipment.



Electrical Apprenticeship Program

This four year program is designed so that a participant may become a trained, licensed, journeyman electrician. It is divided into two major parts:

  1. A paid, on-the-job training with a local electric company, where the student gains practical knowledge of the trade. The on-the-job work experience is a typical 40-hour work week at an entry level wage.
  2. Classroom instruction, where the student learns the technical aspects of the trade. The classroom instruction is held two evenings per week, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

ENROLLMENT IS LIMITED

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • A regular high school diploma or GED
  • A valid Florida drivers license
  • At least 18 years of age
  • A resume of work experience
  • Hired by a local electrical program
  • Availability of space in the program
  • Meets the basic skills requirement of 9th grade level on Form A of the TABE test in math, reading, and language
  • Applicant must be drug free

Small Gas Engine Mechanics

Save money on repairs. Operation, proper maintenance, and repair of small gas engines will be covered. This class covers engines found on lawnmowers, gas powered lawn equipment (blowers, trimmers, edgers,... etc), go-carts and mopeds. Two-stroke and four-stroke cycle principles, ignition systems, carburetion, compression and trouble shooting will be discussed.
