Therapy
Massage Therapy Program

This excellent program has been training Massage Therapists
since 1998 and our program boasts a 95% pass rate on the National
Examination. This 850-hour program is designed to prepare students
for employment as Licensed Massage Therapists. The program is
approved by the Florida Department of Health, Board of Massage
Therapy, so that graduates may take the board approved national
examination. Upon successfully passing the National Certification
Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, students may apply
for licensure through the State of Florida, Board of Massage
Therapy.
The content includes, but is not limited to the theory
and practice of massage, theory and practice of hydrotherapy,
hygiene, practice demonstration, human anatomy and physiology,
legal aspects of massage therapy, allied modalities, leadership
and human relation skills, health and safety, CPR, business and
employability skills.
Applicants must attend orientation, have
HS Diploma or GED, bring completed application and copy of
TABE test or copy of Associate Degree or above, to information

Medical Assisting Program

This program is designed to prepare students to work as Medical
Assistants in physicians offices, clinics, or hospitals. This
1300-hour program trains individuals to be able to work in medical
offices and walk-in clinics. The content includes
but is not limited to medical office receptionist, phlebotomist/basic
office laboratory skills, electrocardiograph aide, front and
back office skills, pharmacology, computer skills, medical manager,
medical coding, transcription, and an uncompensated externship
in an ambulatory health care facility. Applicants must have a
High School diploma or GED, complete
an application, attend orientation, take a TABE test. (Career assessment
is required)

Comprehensive Medical
Laboratory Programs

Phlebotomy Program

This purpose of this 165-hour program is to prepare
students for employment as phlebotomists in hospitals, reference
laboratories, or physician's offices. This is a pre-requisite
for the Medical Laboratory Assistant Program.
The content includes,
but is not limited to communication, leadership, human relations,
and employability skills, emergency procedures (CPR and first
aid) and basic anatomy and physiology. Performance of safe
and efficient work practices in obtaining adequate and correct
blood specimens by capillary or venipuncture, on adults, children
and neonates. Proper handling and processing of blood specimens
is emphasized. This program includes classroom instruction and
practical application of phlebotomy procedures.

Advanced Phlebotomy
For Certification

This program allows students that have completed a basic phlebotomy
program or provide documentation of occupational experience,
to continue their training. Upon successful completion students
may take the national certification examination.

Medical Laboratory Assisting
Program

This 300-hour program prepares students to work in clinical
laboratories, or physicians’ office labs as a lab assistant.
This is a pre-requisite for the Medical Laboratory Technician
Program.
The content includes, but is not limited to communication,
interpersonal and professional skills, appropriate scientific
principles and clinical application of microbiology, chemistry,
hematology, immunology, anatomy and physiology, integrated
into skill development and clinical learning. This program includes
practical application of clinical laboratory procedures.

Medical Clinical Laboratory
Technician
Applied Technology Diploma Program

This 1050-hour program prepares students for licensure and employment
as medical laboratory technicians, medical/clinical laboratory
technicians. The pre-requisites for this program are phlebotomy
and medical laboratory assisting, or the equivalent training.
This program is approved as a training program by the Florida
Department of Health, Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.
The content includes, but is not limited to didactic and laboratory
performance of routine procedures in hematology, immunology,
urinalysis, immunohematology, microbiology and clinical chemistry
including the use of common laboratory instruments. This comprehensive
training program with practical experience as well as clinical
externship in area medical laboratories. This is an Applied
Technology Diploma Program, graduates may transfer vocational
credits to any Florida Community College towards an Associate
Degree.

Medical Coder/Biller
Program

The purpose of this 1000-hour program is to prepare students
for employment in a variety of health care settings as entry-level
coder, medical record coder, coding technician, coding clerks,
or medical coder/billers.
The content includes, but is not limited
to medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, coding systems,
fundamentals of disease including pharmacology, health care
delivery systems, basics of medical records services, ethical
and legal responsibilities, safety/security procedures, basic
data processing and employability skills. Students receive instruction
in Coding for the Medical Office, and Hospitals, this includes
CPT, ICD-9, HCFA, and all types of Insurance Billing, with preparation
for the Certification Examination for Procedural Coders. Pre-requisites
include Health Career Core/Medical Terminology, and High School
Diploma or GED. This is an Applied Technology Diploma Program
graduates may transfer vocational credits to any Community
College toward an Associate Degree.

Nursing Assistant Program

This 130-hour program is designed to prepare students
for employment as nursing assistants in nursing homes. Successful
completion of this program from an approved school prepares the
student for certification.
The content includes, but is not limited
to, interpersonal skills, medical terminology, ethical and
legal responsibilities, safe and efficient work, gerontology,
nutrition, pet-facilitated therapy, health and safety, including
CPR, and employability skills. Classroom instruction and clinical
experience at local nursing homes is utilized. High demand for
those interested in going into the Healthcare field.
