A comprehensive look inside a computer and for those who want to know more and want to prove it. This course is the foundation course in a four part A+ Certification series. Success in the A+ Certification exam proves you have broad-bases Knowledge and competency in core hardware (CPU, Memory Systemboards) and operating system technologies.

Beginning Computers Level 1

As a continuation of Level I this course includes advanced file and web searching, Windows Media Player, copying and audio CD, Media Library, acquiring picture files, E-Mail, Windows Messenger and Instant Messaging, an introduction to computer networks, firewalls, maintaining and optimizing your computer, scheduling routine disk maintenance, Windows updates, monitoring system performance and system information.



Business Math Using Excel

This course will provide you with math instruction on many of the most commonly used math procedures used in business. Great course if you need to improve your skill and understanding of percentages, fractions, decimals, statistics, metrics, payroll calculations, as well as profit and loss.

Typing and document formatting skills are a MUST for the workplace! This course services the beginning through the advanced typists. Beginning typists will learn the touch typing method using alpha and numeric keys along with basic document formatting rules including the proper formatting of letters and more. Level II keyboarding students will further their touch-typing technique and skills including the 10 key pad and speed/accuarcy building to a minimum of 45 wpm. Report formatting will be stressed using real-world office document preparation while working towards a goal of 60 wpm. A final office simulation assessment will be used to verify mastery of course concepts.

Microsoft Excel Level 1

Microsoft Excel is the leading financial spreadsheet software for home and office use. This course includes creating a worksheet and embedded charts, formulas, formatting and web queries, what-if analysis, and working with large worksheets, and financial functions as well as data tables and amortization schedules. In this course you will have the opportunity to learn to create and sort, query worksheets, databases, templates and work with multiple worksheet and workbooks. You'll be instructed on recording macro and assigning it to toolbar buttons and menu commands, as well as importing external data, tracking and routing changes and creating data maps, Pivot Charts, and Pivot Tables and so much more. Lab Required.

Utilize the advanced features of the popular word processing software! This course provides the first-half of a comprehensive presentation of Microsoft Word 2000. Topics include creating and editing word documents, creating a comprehensive presentation of Microsoft Word 2000, creating a research paper, saving and printing documents, saving documents as Web pages, and creating documents with tables, charts and watermarks. This course content follows the MOUS curriculum, preparing the student for the Word MOUS certification exam.

PC Maintenance & Repair Level 1
